This machine was working ok until recently. Symptom - when the Main Switch is turned ON it start until the touch screen is to look normal (30-45 seconds+) and then the Main Switch turns OFF. I'm a Canon tech and I think there is a code that might be retrievable with some help. I have a manual but did not see any reference to the Main Switch shutting down. If it were the fuser there should be a code. C41, C43 ect.. Power Switch rocks off before a code is shown. Thank you in advance for any help!!

Hold 8 and Clear/Stop simultaneously to display the error. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This symtom is that the fuser unit has trouble. First of all, you open the front cover and pull out the fuser unit. Press and hiold down 08 keys and turn on main switch. When screen displays D letter, you press 400 --> start key---> press 0 key and touch Set symbol. Turn off the main switch. Second step you check 3 thermistors by mesuring their ohm in the temperature of air. It must show about 290 - 320Kohm for each thermistor. If any has wrong value compare as above. It is fairelure. As my experience I replace the center thermistor the machine will be ok.Comment
