    Toshiba 5520c Close Duplex Door

    Hey all,

We replaced a fusing unit with a used fuser unit in a Toshiba 5520c. We now get a "Cloe duplex door" message that doesn't seem to clear. We have followed everything the manual suggested. Any ideas or has anyone run into this before? Thanks in advance!

Is the fuser handle retracted into the fuser body? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'm the tech working on this. The handle is retracted switch 7(duplex interlock) ohms out. Replaced switching regulator. About to replaced the portion where the main power comes in.

Remove the fuser and look at paper guide section after the fuser. There is a photo-interrupter sensor mounted on the frame that is triggered by a spring-loaded gate. The sensor is on the rear side. That gate is pushed into place when you close the side door. The gate or sensor could be knocked out of place. If the sensor is not triggered you will get the "close duplex door" message. Had this happen to me a while back and was a real head-scratcher. Stupid place to put a sensor in my opinion! See my attached illustration from manual:

arnh79, you're my new best friend. Took that assy out and sensor was just hanging. Many thanks.
