eStudio 453, it swaps image orientation in middle of jobs, what gives?

Would "mixed originals" being defaulted "on" all the time cause machine to intermittently change image orientation although customer is feeding only letter size originals? How do you get mixed orig. to stay off?

This is just one thing I noticed looking around in the menus, don't know if would cause this???

Image is randomly swapping around like its reading 11R sometimes, then puts it wrong direction on paper and cuts off, copying letter to letter only. F/W is up to date.

What should I try to fix this, have alot of these machines out and never seen this, Please help!!!

Are you seeing E061 or E062 jams on the jam log? Your enduser may have re-oriented the copy paper, but not changed the drawer setting for paper size. Most Toshiba's do not auto tray size detect, so the paper size must be accurately programmed in Menu > General > Drawer ...

Very unusual: on one occasion I found a single pin backed out of the connector to the original size sensor. I doubt I'll ever see anything like that again.

ADF original size width is determined by a slide contact that is heat riveted to the rack gear on the rear guide. I've seen a few of those get very dirty, collect paper clips, or have the contact strip become detached. But it is not intermittent. Typically the DF will chose a specific original size, and never change, usually Stmt-R. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

no E061 or 62 on the jam log, and not end user or cassette size issues, I am going to swap the whole RADF and see how it runs for a few days,

      Thanks Blackcat
