e-Studio 305, jittered image through RADF...

I have this problem only when feeding through the RADF, not from the glass. I have double checked the RADF position, and re-squared it with the screws. I cannot see the paper slowing down or hesitating, but it seems to be at only one spot in the process that it jitters the image, which is strange. Anyone see this?

    Thanks in advance,
    OC

    Hi:

Is it possible to post an image of the problem? Also did you check the RADF height?
I've seen image distortion at the rear edge of the copy when using the RADF due to improper
    height.

Are you sure that it's only with originals through the DF? Toshibas can experience something called "dogleg". If the fuser speed is too slow, when the trailing edge of the paper leaves the reg roller, the paper shifts and creates a dogleg in any straight lines in the feed direction. Naturally it's a fuser speed adjustment that resolves this. And naturally, dogleg would affect both OC (off contact glass) and DF originals. =^..^=

      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Thanks guys.. yes, definitely only through the RADF, not the glass at all. I did not check RADF height, but I did notice that there was no gap on that rear frame side of the RADF, when I had it closed. This is a jitter as if something is SPEEDING UP when feeding the paper, and the lead edge void confirms this. There is about a 1" gap on the lead edge before the image starts, which is odd.

Please check the axels that are responsible for the transport of the Original.
It is possible that they turn too heavy because of the dry bearings.
You can check with the green wheel under the topcover, compare with another radf if possible.
          Good luck, Jan

It's not uncommon on any of the Toshiba DF's to get foreign objects trapped in the pre-registration area, just before white plate. Some of the more interesting objects have been those little signature stickers that lawyers put on documents to sign, The silicone based glue ball that the postal service uses to keep closed mailed catalogs and bills, and my person favorites: paper clips. You can never have enough paper clips.

It's not an easy area of the machine to examine. If you take off the front and rear DF covers, the left side DF cover, the green handle/clip/pin, then the outer registration guide ... then you can get a good look at it.
