How to count pages without copying?

How do I count pages without actually copying them? In other words, I have a big stack of original documents and just want to know first how many pages are there, without having to manually count them. I have a Toshiba e-studio 520.

    Thanks for any help.

The simplest way is to remove the copy paper of the appropriate size. Then place your stack of originals in the document feeder and press start. All you have to do is pay attention at the very end of the scan as the display counts up. Depending on the specific model it may display the total for only a few seconds, or it may continue to display the number.

The machine will ask you to load paper. Just press Stop/Reset. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
