Xerox 5225 drum reset?

I have a client that has a couple of these 5225 units . Is there a way to reset the drum without a chip ? Copy quality is fine I hate to throw out a good drum

Chip is the only way.

1. Buy a new drum from store.

2. Swap chips with your old drum.

3. Return new drum as "defective".
