[Dead] Xerox Workcenter 5745 Finisher communication fault

This Office Finisher, connected to a WC 5745.During power up the machine is powered on but the finisher is doing nothing (Relay clicking, Motor running etc) which leads me to believe
that the Finisher power supply is not working. Am I correct on this ? Is there a way to just disconnect the finisher and adjust a setting in service mode to make machine not need a finisher ? Any guidance in this are would be very helpful .. Thanks so much !!!!
