Xerox workcentre 7845 - Scan to folder

I have a 7845 that was working fine up until a week ago. We had it setup to scan to a particular computer folder. We called the folder scan. Actually as much as I hate to admit it I set it up but it was last year. For some reason it refuses to scan to the folder anymore. It just says failed.

The template says it is scanning to 10.1.10.21 well the problem is I can't find any computer with that address. More crazy is if I ping that address I get a reply but I checked the computer it was scanning to and that is not the address.

So can someone please help me. How to I setup a scan folder do the xerox will send it. Is it as simple as just changing the IP address in the template to reflect the address of the folder or are there other steps I can not remember?

Thank you for your help in advance.

You would be better using the pc host name rather than the ip address as the pc is most likely on dhcp so will change the pc ip address. (The pc host name never changes)

      Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried as you suggested but it keeps saying it failed because there is a login failure. Check user password and or setups.

Not sure what this means? I tried using the username and password of the machine but that did not work.

      Any help appreciated

Setup a template in Scans tab

        Add New

        File Destination scans (for example)
        Friendly Name: scans (for example)
        Default Repository Protocol: SMB
        Hostname or IPv4 Address : Port 139 or 445
        Share: share name IE. Shared
        Doc Path: folder IE. scans
Login name: Domain\Username (suggest creating user account for scanning - such as scanuser)
        Password: set never to expire/change
        Select Stored in template option
If shown un tick save job log (.XST)
        Then Save/Add

I almost got it. The error now states Conflicting job setting invalid path

          Not sure what this means.
If I use my PC I can see the server in my network and if I click on the server name I can see and access the folder named scans

In the template under Document Path I typed in the following \\servername\scans
But when I try to scan to this folder it gives me that error message

Any ideas or help greatly appreciated
          Thanks

Got it! Just took the info out of the destination folder and left it blank and it worked perfect.

            Thanks again

Try setting up as below image, make sure there is only one "scans" folder and do not add the \\ or \ in path details.
