    [Dead] xerox wc 7425

12 amp fuse in the power supply is blown. Checked outlet , line cord, trip breaker where line cord plugs in is not tripped pulled fuser out of the machine, thinking maybe that could be the load. replaced the fuse and tried to turn it on with the fuser out blew fuse immedately. Any Ideas or suggestions on what to do next PLEASE

Get yourself a hand full of fuses. Unplug all output connectors to the power supply. If the fuse blows at this stage, get a new power supply. If it does not blow, connect one connector at a time to see when it blows. Once you have found the offending connector, use the block diagram to find out what components that connector goes to to determine what is shorted.

Exok has the best info here, but as an aside I'd make sure there wasn't an anomaly with the power being provided from the outlet the machine is plugged into. Generally a fuse with that high of amperage rating is supposed to stop incoming crap as well as internal machine problems. The fuse number on the circuit board would be really useful if you could share that though.
