This is normal behavior for machines that expect dhcp configurations, which is the factory default iirc.
You can try a couple things, disable both ipv4 and ipv6, should clear the warning, or disable tcp/ip all together.
Additionally you could probably just disable the dhcp and enter an address manually, this way you can get back into centre-ware if needed.

thank you daan, i'll try your suggestions. i cannot get centerware to down load from xerox, they say i need a windows program, forget the name, and when i try and download the windows software it fails to load after 30 minutes so i cant get centerware downloaded. i'll let you know - thanks again--tuey

Centreware is the webservice running on the device. Hook it up to a network with dhcp or configure the ip manually on the device. Then you can access the web interface by entering the ip of the printer into your browser.

          Make a RJ45 loopback = pin1 short with pin3, pin2 short with pin 6.
Enter RJ45 loopback into machine ethernet port

thats more what i'm looking for, resets the machine back to factory specs ? but i would have to find someone who can make the rj45 loop, never done that. i do not have a network to hook the machine to in my office or warehouse so the centerware solution is out. some of the older xerox you could reset to factory specs from control panel, i tried turning off some of the features in networking and some of the messages went away but still wants that network solution. thank-you for the help

hey adriansto, do you think removing the battery for a while would also set it back to factory ?? thanks--tuey

                NO

Why you dont try RJ 45 loopback ?
Every computer shop can make it

i will try that, i thought i was going to have to go to a data cabler to get something like that made, i know one but a computer shop would be much more convenient. thank you adriansto for the tip, will that reset any xerox machine back to factory?

                    This is not a reset.
It fool the machine about the network

You need one for every printer.
                    Looks like this
