[CQ] Xerox 6605 lines on prints

I've been asked to look at one of these machines for a friend and it looks as if the transfer belt cleaning has failed as the lines are on the belt if you halt the process midway, Drums all clean.

Machine only done 27k so can
I take the belt out and clean the cleaning unit or do we need to replace it?

    How does it come out??

    1. Open the toner cover, unlatch and remove the waste toner container.
    2. Open the rear cover.
    3. Lift the exit tray cover under the display module.
    4. Grab the transfer asm handles and pull it out.
    5. Pop the little black cover off of the transfer belt cleaner assembly and remove the screw that holds it in place.

You should be able to figure out how to remove and clean the cleaner assembly at this point. I recommend vacuuming it out if you can. They tend to build up with a lint-like substance, which causes image defects. You should be able to get as much life out of the unit as you want since you can reset the counter in Admin...well, so long as it doesn't start squeeking. If it does, replace it.

    Good luck.
