Hi, i resetted the machine for service reason and now i have this message displayed:
A supplies plan activation code must be entered soon.
Can someone help me? i havo no experience with xerox brand. Thank you.

what do you mean by: i resetted the machine for service reason

did you wipe the NVR or reset to factory defaults?
do you have the manual?
are you a tech?
what was the service reason?

Hi, i have no manual, i wiped the NVR instead of dactory settings, i did a mistake, can you hel me? yes i am a tech but i have experience with kyocera, canon, toshiba ando no experience with xerox.

so you DON'T work on Xerox... you have NO Manual ... and you went poking around? nope no help from me.... you NEED to have a manual when working on Xerox...

from now on ..STICK WITH MACHINES YOU HAVE MANUALS AND KNOWLEDGE OF.

Pointing out you are NOT equipped to handle this shit... I have been in this industry for 31+ years.. I would NEVER go to a call so poorly equipped for it.

The activation code is needed to use the 'metered' supplies that Xerox only gives to customers with maintenance contracts.

Can't help you with an activation code, but I think you should be able to switch to 'sold' supplies instead, which are the regular supplies you can buy online. But I don't have much experience on the 58xx machines, so can't tell you if this will really work.

Odin is correct, probably looking for code for metered supplies.

But you have to understand the point Phil B. is making.

The Xerox machines without service manuals are almost impossible to properly work on.

Even if you are an excellent Copier / Printer Technician, the codes, tests, and procedures for even the simplest repairs are necessary and only found in the manuals.

Xerox has gone to great lengths so that these manuals are not readily available in a PDF format to the public. Only in EDOC.

If you want to start working on Xerox equipment you really need to invest in a Laptop such as the one "XTRAIN" has.

His laptop has the basic EDOC (Electronic Documentation) that you will need. Then it's just a matter of getting individual modules for the machines you will be working on.

You still will need to be a half way decent service tech, but at least with the manuals you will be able to follow the advice given in this forum.

I guess sometimes I do come off as 'brash'... but WHEN I was coming up ( not only in this industry ) PC *politically correct* was NOT something we adhered to.. People today are too often BUTT HURT.. sorry don't really care.

Yes YOU SHOULD NOT *as an unseasoned tech* go to a XEROX call without a MANUAL like RockDude said you WILL need the manual. (newer models REQUIRE PWS and EDOC) You can turn a Xerox ( really ANY machine ) into a BRICK if you DO NOT KNOW WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot what you are doing.

Sorry to say, but after working with XEROX machines for 40 years I have to tell you that even us, trained service technicians, have to make a call to Support Centre. Then they will calculate a new PIN for the machine.
If you are not a certified technician they can't help you.

That's the way it goes.
