I'm vaguely aware of developer spill issue what would contaminate laser glass. It was addressed in later models because cleaning out the laser was a pain in the arse.

Open front cover, open inner front cover, use the ROS cleaning wands below each drum.

If white lines still persists replace the Magenta developer tank. (you'll need service manual for this, or a Xerox tech)

He should count himself lucky light stripes is all that’s wrong with a 7500.

I hate that machine the most of all the Xerox's I have ever worked on.

Ninety percent had a bad top cover assembly (which could include the hinge assembly, or wires breaking internally where
they bend every time you open the cover).

The cost was so expensive to repair (parts and labor) that more than one of my customers ended up putting
everything from two phone books to a 5 pound gym weight on that top cover corner to make the cover error go away.

I guess what I am trying to say that if after fixing the Magenta lines by either the wand or developer tank, you have other problems, run far and run fast.

          Just my two cents.

The 7500 has no laser, but a LED strip. Cleaning it is easy. If that doesn't help swop drums. If that doesn't help either, either the LED strip is bad or the developer.

                Hi Richard,

Don't mean to get off subject, but I have never found a Phaser / ColorQube I couldn't fix!

But just to qualify I am talking about the smaller units (8400,8500,8550,8560,8570,8580,8870,8880)

NOT the big boys (9202, 9302, etc..) they are in a different class.

Thx guys, appreciate your great help , just done with it, had to take it a part and give it a good detailed cleaning and replaced the Magenta developer tank , it was painful & time consuming process, the printer itself is not worth it, and when you hit the client with a few hundreds $ bill, hemm what can you do!.
