Versalink c405 admin password

I have a customer that has one and their I.T. guy says the admin password needs to be reset ?
Will someone direct me on this, other than calling xerox.

One method is to reset the admin passwd using 12 digit reset code.
This code is generated by special software using machine serial number and total meter.
Other method is to use special boot mode - nvram init mode.
This will clear all machine settings so it should be use with caution.

So will the customer have to find a authorized xerox service that has "special software" or is this something I can do ?

I am having the same issue with my versalink c405. is this something you could assist me with? I have been searching for hours on how to reset this machine back to the factory defaults.

The reset code get back the default admin password, not reset machine to factory default.

Same issue here. IT consultant for a non-profit. Cannot for the life of me get the admin password reset to update their SMTP settings. A factory reset or just admin pass reset would be awesome. All info I've found online says I need a Xerox technician to come out for ~$350, so I'd really like to avoid that.

I have my Versalink C405DN since 2,5 years. It seems that I actually forgot my admin password too.
Is there any chance I could ask you for that code too?

Hi,

I just received a new versalink c405, we were having some issues with it so we factory reset it. We had never changed the default password prior to resetting. Now when setting it back up, it states that the printer is using the default password, but whenever i enter 1111, it states the password is incorrect. Is this something you can assist with? Possibly resetting to see if that solves the issue?

Might be worth trying the serial number of the device as the default password?
There was an update recently to newer machines changing to this from now on for increased security

I recently bought one of the printers brand new and liked it so much I bought a second one for home from ebay. Problem is that it has a non compatible fixed IP address and someone has changed the default admin password. Could someone help me reset the password? Its a 2017 model.
