[Error Code] Xerox 7970i - No display, all lights solid, error code 5

Hi, and thanks in advance for any guidance. I have a Xerox 7970i, and it is no longer working at all. Specifically, the display is blank/off, and all lights are on solid. After several power cycles/reboots, I looked on this forum and followed advice to see what the error code near the ethernet port shows. That display shows number 5. If my understanding is correct, that indicates a corrupt SD card.

What do I do from here? Is there somewhere/someone from whom I can get an image? I don't have a service contract on this printer, and I have not yet attempted to contact Xerox. Please advise if I need a new SD card, if it has to be one from Xerox (or can I get one locally and format it?), and where I can get the necessary image.

Also, is there a service manual that would indicate where the RAM is, just on the off chance that that might be an issue/secondary issue? I have DDR2 SODIMMs available; just haven't taken the printer apart to see where it goes.

    Thank you!
    Fabiha.

Try booting with the doors open. Then try to release the ram to clean the contacts (ethernet cables and power supply disconnected).

The death code 5 is usually the SD Card on the SBC unit. You have to order a new one through Xerox due to the format of the card. You will need to replace the card and then do a ATLBOOT reload via USB with current software. Part number for SD Card: 237E28146
