[CQ] Phaser 7100 Colours offset by 3-4 mm each

    Hi all,

I have a client with a Xerox Phaser 7100. Black prints are ok but when printing a colour page, each colour is offset/shifted by 3-4 mm.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

well that'd be nice to know from the jump.

        what ELSE have you tried?

when did the issue crop up?

        genuine OEM toners and drum?

print out the settings/config page and post in PDF format

          Phil,
Thats for the quick responses! yes you're correct that there should have been more information.
So, called out in early March for a code that related to yellow toner issue. Couldn't find anything wrong so just removed all drums and toners and cleaned all the usual items.
Re-assembeld and tested - all fine.
A couple of weeks later the client says that the images are blurred. Again, I looked for anything obvious and couldn't see anything wrong.
Carried out the colour registration and it made no difference.
I have very little experience of Xerox products so please bear with me.
Wondering if the fault lies within the image transfer unit. Seems to be a lot of waste toner falling from the ITU into the machine.
Genuine drums but compatible toners. Quality was excellent and low mileage.

Maybe this is obvious but I saw a tech spend 4 days with a similar issue replacing half the machine before realizing that the paper wasn't the right type for the printer causing it to slip around during the print.

I have NEVER found one Xerox unit that plays well with compatible toner.

I dunno Xeroxes but with that issue and compatible toners definitely check ITU/ITB registration sensors. Compatible toners always make machine a lot dirty-contaminated.

Well I would say cleaned inside on general cleaning toner, paper dust etc. inside machine but would be more than specific on what exactly was cleaned especially sensors and machine crucial parts. That's just me...I could be wrong thought.
