I know, I know... these are old machines that are not exactly optimised for scanning. But I've come so close now that I wanted to check here anyway.
My customer has 5 Windows 10 PC's that are on the same network as a the Color 570. All machines get their IP's with DHCP, but the lease time is infinite so the IP's don't change.
I have followed this guide from Xerox, that has since I've used it had a 100% succes rate for me:
At first it didn't work, but once I enabled SMB 1.0 on the PC's it worked. At least, on 2 out of the 5. On the other PC's, it just won't work. As far as I know they all use the exact same versions of Windows 10. And on all 5 computers, I have created a user exclusively for scanning.
The 570 has no Fiery, just the internal controller. I set scanning from CentreWare. I set up the PC's as File Repositories, using their IP addresses, and using port 445. I've been thinking there might be duplicate IP addresses on the network, but using the PC's name.
I know an alternative is setting up FTP servers on the PC's, but could I be missing something?
