WC 7830 and metered mode => sold mode

    Hello
I'm a french user of a 7830 which is a second hand machine and I discovered that the machine is in metered mode. Could you please help me to change it in a sold mode ? I have to change toner but I only have non metered toner...

Thanks a lot for your help.
    regards

      Hello Phil B
Thanks for your reply, but I can't contact Xerox tech since the machine is no longer covered by the waranty. Does a xerox tech could help me from here ?

no techs here can't help you .. it's not Xerox tech ..you MUST call Xerox corp they will give you a code to input.. they will need ser # of the machine.

You can't convert Xerox from sold to metered or other. Do not waist your time. It is done at initial setup and will take an act of congress to force Xerox to let this to happen.

this will teach you to RESEARCH what you are buying in the future.

frankly IMHO Xerox's are pieces of shit. I would give one to my dog to use.

Won't it accept the sold toner? I think normally it should... If not: just go and buy metered toner, it's usually cheaper and easier to get than sold toner. Alternatively, change the chips. PM me if you need some.

It should work with non-metered (sold toner) be advised that if you have a service contract that says you must buy your metered toner from your servoce company as part of the agreement that if you use sold toner it will work but once you try to use metered toner again the machine will trigger a non-compatible toner message on the screen and your machine will stop working. The only solution after that is a xerox technician must come onsite, collect some information from the machine, then contact xerox support to recieve a special pin code that only certified techs can get and that code will put your machine back to metered and will work with metered toner again, if you are not a certified technician you will not get the code from xerox, I know because Im a xerox tech.. If you own this machine you can do what you want but if youre not...
