Still searching through the service manual and nothing except for page 480 where the clearing action for "C Toner Cartridge is Empty" message is:
    Code:
[I]Replace toner cartridge. If the Toner Empty message occurs even when remaining toner is not low, perform Toner Recovery operation first to see if Toner Empty state is canceled or not.[/I][/
except for the fact that the Toner Recovery operation is nowhere to be found. The only potentially related thing I have found is dC991 Tone Up/Tone Down:
    Code:
    dC991 Tone Up/Tone Down
    Purpose
This procedure compares measured toner concentration against a target, and allows manual adjustment of TC. Refer to ADJ 9.14 for instructions.
But if toner doesn't make through the dispenser this won't help. Given, as already mentioned, that I have no errors (at least none that I was able to find), is there:
    • a way to test the dispense motor?
    • a way to manually action (for example by removing dispense assembly, positioning the toner cartridge, manually turn the gears) the process and see where the path is obstructed (if it is)?

went through pages 1129-1155 and more specifically through 1150 and 1155 (others seems related to paper, scanner, finisher and others not related with the xerographic process), table 22 (developer drive chain) and I find mentions of IBT motor, drum motor, toner motor, developer motor but no mention of the dispense motor. Probably it's named with some kind of acronym which I ignore. for example I have absolutely no idea of what this is:

Again, I'm not expecting for others to get the job done, but I'd appreciate something specific.

problem solved: one of the pins (top one) detecting the toner chip was bent. Brought it back to its position and now everything works. Thank you everyone for your help!
