Xerox C70 Duplex Jam Error Codes 077-109 and 077-118 – Need Help!

    Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing recurring paper jams with my Xerox C70, specifically showing error codes 077-109 and 077-118 during duplex printing. Here’s some more information:

Problem Description: The printer consistently jams during duplex printing sometimes like every other page it jams, and the errors 077-109 and 077-118 are displayed. I’ve tried clearing the jammed paper and restarting the machine, but the errors persist.

    Steps Taken:

Checked and cleared any visible paper jams in the paper path.

    Restarted the printer several times.

Cleaned the rollers as per the user manual's instructions.

Ive run IOT checks 007-011- 15 but I don't know what exactly to look for or clean I've seen where person talk about brass and transport belt being loose.

I am a printer tech by profession so i know my way around the xerox c60 but im not a professional.

Paper Type: it's jams basically all type of papers letter to tabloid.

Any advice on how to resolve these errors?

    Thanks in advance!

Pull out the main drawer. Remove the fuser and reach down, grab the skinny duplex drive belt. It should turn easily in both directions.
I fought duplex jams on my C75. The long skinny belt drives 18 pulleys. After cleaning all the bearings it would run for a day or two, then make a grinding noise and jam! I ended up replacing all the parts with the improved ones (with ball bearings) from The Parts Drop. Get the double drive gears, a new belt, brass bushings and the pulley kit...approx $300. After I installed them it ran hard for a month without any more jams!

Thanks, Big Mike! I went ahead and cleaned the bearings and adjusted the belt as you suggested. It worked well for a few days, but then it stopped again. I advised my client that we'll need to order the upgraded kit. Appreciate the help!
