[Error Code] apeosport V 5070 005-945 / 005-947

Hello everyone.

machine model is fuji xerox Apeosport V 5070 (black and white machine)

My customer is having problem when scan / copy from ADF.
they used paper with A4 size (feed it portrait to the adf/ long side first / A4L)
It pulls a few pages, then shows error 005-945 (305-945 in workcentre)

This machine ADF is similar with the adf in Workcentre 7855 / 7845 (single pass scan).


Things I've tried:
1. Replace adf nudger roll, feed roll, and retard roll.
2. Checked the aps sensor 1, aps sensor 2, aps sensor 3. work correctly in component control
3. Checked the document tray set guide sensor 1, 2, 3. All are correct in component control. All are High for A4L
4. Checked the document tray size sensor 1 and 2. It is working correctly in component control.
5. Replace whole ADF unit with my backup machine same speed and model. (not brand new ADF, but it is working fine). Problem still occurs.
6. Tested the customer ADF unit in my backup machine the ADF works fine.
7. Initialize IIT NVM. Problem still occurs.

Anybody got similar experience and its fix?


I notice that
1. If I turn on mixed sized document, paper size auto detect on. It does not show error 005-945, but paper size detection is wrong. Sometimes it is A4, then 8.5*11". Sometimes paper jam, 005-123 , then the paper crumpled like it is hitting something / machine force it to stop.
2. If I turn on mixed sized document, paper size auto detect off (manually select A4). ADF will work properly. no jam, no error.

yes.
for SPDF (single pass document feeder) models if you want the operation to be clear and free of jam I did some modification
1. Replace the sponge pad on each actuator. The original sponge pad is horrible and becomes sticky
2. To prevent A3 SEF or A4 LEF gets stopped, remove the 3 sensor actuator on top position (could be the sensor late to comes back to original position due to weak spring). IF you see underneath the 3 sensor actuator on top position, there is no sensor located underneath. So I believe they put it just for spare.

Sticky pads for the actuators in the retard chute is a very common problem. You said you swapped out the entire ADF. I guess that ADF also had sticky pads?
