    NEED HELP dc12

I'm writing from Turkey. We have dc12, which gives 3-380 error code and can't start. We applied to xerox service, but they asked a very high price (over 3000 dolars) to change a part, which we couldn't learn the name. I put the photos here, so anyone can give me full name, so I can find the part from abroad (the USA or europe), purchase and fix our dc12. We'll pleased also with any other suggestions or help to fix.. thanks for your interest...

the unit which you have shown is the IBT assembly. You dont have to change the IBT assembly for this code. How many copies have you taken in the machine. there is a reflective patch on the edge of the IBT belt as you have shown in picture 2.The sensor is not catching the reflected signal. Did they check if the problem is with the sensor. From the pic 2 i can see that some damage has happened to the reflective patch, but it should work.Stick the reflective match cleanly of the edge of the filim and it should work.

thanks for your kind interest.. we changed the reflective matches, but now we're not sure about the length between two reflective matches. do you know how much exactly it should be? by the way the xerox service near us, we do not trust them after they asked that money...

                        RAP Attached

Attached is the 3-380 RAP in case you don't have it. Searchlite showed 46 hits (too many to post here) for this problem, everything from a faulty TRO sensor through slow turning components to an NVM corrupted during a software upgrade.

Manual IS a Good Start, but

The manual is a good start -but it won't help you fix a problem like this. You need a PWS to run diagnostic routines, and you need the SearchLite component of the PWS to provide the solution that is simply NOT going to be in the manual.

There were 46 separate bulletins about the 3-380 fault in SearchLite. The Doc12 is a very mature product. SOMEONE has had your identical problem and has submitted a report to SearchLite about it.

Not all PWS' are created equal. Without up to date SNAPs (bulletins, service tips) that make up SearchLite, you only have half of what you paid for.
