    SOS Xerox WorkCentre 7830:
Trapped in Authentication Hell - Need Your Expert Wisdom!

Need help with WorkCentre 7830 - Incompatible toner after supplies plan expired

    Hello everyone,
First of all, I apologize if this topic has been covered before. I've searched through the forum but couldn't find a solution that exactly matches my situation.

    My situation

I'm a student who was fortunate enough to acquire a WorkCentre 7830 from my school for a personal project. The machine was being decommissioned, and they allowed me to take it.
The printer was working fine initially, but now I'm facing an issue: the toners are still full, but suddenly they're showing as "incompatible" because the supplies plan has expired. I can see on the display that the plan has reached its end date.

    What I have access to
    • I have admin access to both the web interface and the machine itself
    • The printer is in good physical condition
    • All toners show good levels but are now "incompatible"

I'm wondering if there's a way to reset or bypass this restriction so I can continue using the existing toners? I understand this is a common issue with these machines when they transition from a managed environment to personal use.

Has anyone successfully resolved this issue without having to purchase a supplies plan activation code? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!
    Best regards,

    Laurent
A hopeful student with a giant paperweight

Hi Laurent, you will be fine. You need different toners, or replace the chips in your current toner. Not sure where you are located but for Europe part numbers are 006R01513-14-15-16.

      Hi Detonation!

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I’m in Europe! Are the four chips on this link what I need?

Switzerland. Also, I have performed multiple resets in the hope of getting the machine to work. I still have access to the admin account, so theoretically, I should be able to get it running, right?

If machine does not ask for a suppliies plan pin then you can replace chips and you should be fine.
You can find chips on ebay for example here
            CMYK set(SOLD) toner chip for Xerox 7525 7530 7535 7545 7556 7855 7830 7835 7845 7830i 7835i 7845i 7855i. 1 x Black 1006R01513 Toner Chip. 1 x Yellow 1006R01514 Toner Chip.

Yes, absolutely. Just replace the toner chips. Beware that all toners will show up at 100% though, while they are not all full. So for example your cyan toner will countdown from 100% to 90% to 80%, and will then all of a sudden drop to 'toner empty, replace now'.

I have the toner chips as well as the original toners, should you be interested. Located in the Netherlands, so shipping should be relatively cheap.
