    Xerox 700 Recurring tray error

I picked up this machine used. 2.5m prints. Runs great after alignment and calibration by technician. However, I have a recurring issue with the nr 7 large volume tray. Gives me error code 078-231.
Also, tray no 7 is unable to automatically find the correct paper size.
Tray 6 works great and detects A3 and A4, both orientation and size, but no 7 not so much. Yes, it's set on automatic.

My initial thought was dust or debree on some light sensor in the magazine, however, after carefully cleaning out all dust and dirt from the tray, error persists.
Google gives me nothing. Any suggestions?

I would not want to discourage you but if you are not a qualified Xerox technician it would be better to avoid putting your hands in it self-taught, check the condition of the rubber rollers and in the rear drawer if there is waste paper

took off the side panel and it looks pretty clean. Note: this is not a production unit. I bought it for fun and for some personal use. Prints fast and good, also was not that expensive.

would you know what the error code means? Thanks

I found the issue. Error code is tray 7 shift rear limit sensor.
Issue was shift motor acme screw jammed. Some time the lower tray had some transport damaged bended it just a tiny fraction out of shape jamming the tray shifter.
It's gonna take some elbow grease to straighten it out again (it sits 3mm to low now jamming the screw)

        Thanks for the support.
