    Phaser 8560 stalling

Can get it to pass paper by removing the transfix load springs. With the springs connected, it jams paper at the transfix roll. Cams are not cracked or spun, bearings on the removed TF roll are free and don't appear to be of concern - not binding or noisy. Load arms do not appear bent or worn. Mechanically, I can find no issue. Process motor assm is timed correctly. Replaced the drum drive motor and power supply (unknown and untested), thinking there in insufficient drive to the drum - not enough horse power to turn the drum under load. The load test in diagnostics does stall the motor. A static load test on another 8560 reveals that the drum is difficult to turn by hand under load. It actually seemed harder to turn than the problem machine. Still could be the motor and PS, but I would guess very unlikely. Any ideas?

This was years ago so I cant remember with 100% certainty what my original issue was, but i have had the drum drive belt start slipping and cause issues. i replaced the worn belt and issue resolved.

Guy, Ya know, that is probably it. Didn't think of the belt slipping, but it sure stands to reason. The drive pulley is so small - not much surface area, and the grooved side of the serpentine belt is in contact with the smooth pulley of the drum. I can see how slipping can happen. Great call. I will try it Monday.
