7020 dark band at bottom of page

7020, almost brand new. Prints and internal copies look perfect.
Off the glass, or ADF shows a dark band/shadow at the bottom of the page.
Checked the entire optical area, found nothing. Had a 7030, swapped the
entire lens assembly, nothing.
Ran a sky shot and figured it out. the front (operator side) bank of LED's for
the scanner lamp are not lighting up. If you close & open the platen cover
switch causing the scanner lamp to light, about 4-5 of the lamps from the operator
side to the rear are not coming on.
First time I've ever seen an LED array like that just a few not coming on.

what I would try to do:
1. Clean IIT flexible cable.
2. Swap IIT board and see whether the problem goes away.
