    basket case 7836

Got handed a basket case machine.
    Won't boot.
Did the altboot, which it took the files, got to 100%, said remove thumb drive, press 0.
It rebooted, the display came up, the loading bar at the bottom did it's thing, and rebooted.
Now, it boots to a dead display, all LED lights on the control panel are lit.
the SBC display is stuck on 2.

    Toss it in the dumpster?

I'm not sure, but I think this machine was being used as a scrap machine, parts pulled out,
    replaced etc.

I had it turned off, but plugged in (door on/off was off). Powered it back up
and it boots up, but once the main screen comes on, message at the top says
services are being optimized...then it reboots, ready screen comes up and says
services are being optimized. Keeps doing that.

As far as the memory, are you saying just replace it?

Took both memory cards out, cleaned them & the sockets.
Put them back in and after it came up everything started working.
Now, the SBC 7 segment display just shows the blinking period.
            All functions are working.

Must have been that "tin wisker" issue on the memory card.
