Xerox AltaLink C8070 strange diagonal lines

Hello all,


I have a strange problem once again with a Xerox AltaLink C8070. When I print grayscale or full black (only with black - not with 4K) then strange diagonal line patterns appear (see photos). When printing in color, the problem does not exist.
Is this due to the developer? The black developer has run about 340,000 pages so far.
The picture in full black was taken against the light so that you can see the lines better.

The whole housing or only the powder?
Do you think/know it's the developer?

The defect name is barber pole deletions. Normally only developer powder. If high mileage machine = high prints counter then you can change developer unit.

Personally, with 340K pages I would definitely change the developer housing as well.

Those barber-pole lines are caused by a warn out mag roll in the developer housing. not saying the developer inside the housing is bad but definitely the housing needs replaced. with that being said, if you are replacing the housing you should always replace the developer as well. I never recommend recycling the old developer into a new housing where it can be avoided.
