Is it possible to insert Versant 80 toner inside the 770? has anyone tried? can it cause problems over time?

Yes, but you must to exchange the 770 plastic key cover and toner chip to the toner V80 cartridge.

Hi, it isn't the same toner actually, it is one generation newer. The particles are smaller and it is slightly less glossy. It is however completely compatible. Both in terms of development properties and fusing, it will work just fine.
