Xerox Color 560 paper jam in registration assembly

Have a Xerox Color 560 that keeps jamming in the registration assembly. It jams when printing from tray 1 and 5 (bypass) every print. It jams from tray 2 only when printing A3. When printing A4, from trays 2, 3 or 4, there are some jams, but most prints are coming through.

I have replaced the bypass chute assembly and the entire registration assembly, but the problem is still there. I also checked all sensors in these units from component control, and they do change state when I activate them with a small piece of paper. Connector on drawer and in machine look just fine. Where to look next? Could the pre registration motor be the culprit?

What jam codes you got?
If machine print ftom trays 2,3 and 4 normaly then motors, sensors or registration assembly should not be a problem
Check paper feed tires in tray 1 and 5.
Check tray 5 feed motor and friction clutch.

When printing from tray 1 the code is 071-105. The paper rollers seem to be fine. The ones on the MPT are brand new and the feed seems to be smooth and fast (no slipping whatsoever). It just jams the instant it enters the registration assembly.

I wouldn't say it prints just fine from tray 2-3-4, but it's possible to make 10-20 prints (A4, not A3) from those trays before it jams. But from trays 1 and 5 it jams every single page. I could replace the friction clutch, but that would not address the problems from the other drawers.

So you have jam problem from all trays. Then check preregistration motor

Well seems to be a good one , take out machine rear cover go to right side close to the tray5 side you will find a big square motor is the pre registration motor probably the black gear split up you can get it apart an repair the motor buy if is a high count machine replace the whole thing (049K31140).

Replaced the preregistration motor assembly and works like a charm. Thanks for the help!
