workcentre 7545 not pulling from tray 1, giving message that tray 2 cannot be used

Hi, all. I don't do a lot with Xerox products, so I'm not sure if there are known issues with this series. It seems as though tray 2 is not lifting, and it pops up a jam message whenever I try to pull a job from tray 1, prompting me to open the side door, then check the cassette. The rollers look okay, though old, but it's not even putting any marks on the paper that would indicate that it's trying to pick up the paper, and the paper is not moving. Tried restacking, tried fresh paper, nothing. Bottom two cassettes are pulling fine, though I'm sure they use a different drive than the top does. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the lift gear on the back of the cassette. They break all the time.

Check the one way clutch on the nudger and feed roller on the feedhead. Those go south a lot, too.
