    Xerox WorkCentre 6605 magenta cast

Customer of mine has a WorkCentre 6605, and the colors are off. All images look ways too purple, as if there is too much magenta toner in the prints. There is no background contamination. We have replaced the imaging kit and the developer HVPS, as well as the yellow and magenta toner cartridges, which were both at 5%. Cleaned CTD sensor. Also reset NVM. But the problems remain.

Solid fills look great for all colours, so it just looks like the internal gradation adjustment (and I am not sure there even is one) is not correct. Is there any way to adjust? The problem is present on both copies as well as prints, so I do not expect a driver issue.

Mr. D, Is the toner OEM? It seems you covered all the bases. Maybe replacing the sensor?

Yeah, the toner is original Xerox, they have never used anything else. The CTD sensor seems the only logical suspect indeed. But given the age of the machine and the fact I don't have the sensor in stock, I don't think I'll go through the trouble of ordering and replacing it, not knowing for sure if it will solve the issue.

I have swapped drums - say k with m - for troubleshooting purposes. Swap chip (if it has one) and cut plastic key, run 1 copy without much toner on it. Heck, maybe try a used transfer belt. If you have say a black cast now, I would guess it is not the sensor.
