Xerox WorkCentre 3655 Will Not Boot Up Error Code 016-351 on scrreen.

    Xerox WorkCentre 3655 Will Not Boot Up Error Code 016-351 on scrreen.

    I have a Xerox WorkCentre 3655 showing error code 016 - 351
    which the manual indicates (Defective/missing EEPROM on ESS ESS Board On 016-351)

    I didn't see in the parts diagram where the EEPROM is replaceable, or has a part number.

    I hate to buy an new ESS board for one bad EEPROM.

    The screen just says 016-351 "Please Reboot"

    Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

      Eeprom not available as spare part. Check if it is correct inserted.

          Thanks for the reply. I have another machine with a bad ESS board.

          Can I use the EEPROM from the bad ESS board?

          Is the EEPROM locked to the machine (i.e. serial number, etc?)

          Can I just use the ROM and EEPROM form the bad ESS machine and put them in as a set
          to get this machine up and running?

          or Any other ideas?

              On new ESS board you transfer the chips an when you put it into printer the automatic serial syncronization is done. I dont know if this works if you put into printer ess board with serial number already write on it.
              You can try to use ess without chips, looks at the error codes will appear and follow the procedures for those error codes. I dont think the eeprom contain the serial but who knows!
              SD card contain the serial and billing counters. May be you will need a new sd card?

                      These EEP ROMs seems very standard. Since they will be re-written anyway, I'm wondering if you could just use one from another machine (say WorkCentre 7830)?
