Yes they are compatible and surely it would work. I've seen it on some of our clients but we don't recommend swapping toners. Long term effect - deve tank and IBT belt wear and tear

I suspect that the developer and belt would be okay actually, since the toners are (as I understand it) physically identical as far as particle size and whatnot. The known difference is that the 700 toner has a lower melting point. I don't think this along would probably cause problems, and may even allow better fusing on some heavier stocks.

My concerns, though, would be if the color balance of the 700 toner and 250 toner are the same. The 250 'expects' its toner to be a certain color, and bases all of its color math on that. If the 700's toner is a slightly different shade, that could cause problems. Obviously the 700 itself would be expecting its own toner and be fine, but throwing it into a 250 could lead to some color calculations based on a (now) false baseline.

The toner is definitely different, but that doesn't mean they changed the color formula of the toner. The 700 is the newest EA toner... 'EA-Eco' and the 250 is the 2nd gen EA toner, 'EA-HG'... The original EA toner, just called 'EA' was used in the 1632/2240/3535 and they DID change the magenta color formula from the EA to the EA-HG... Many of the sneakier sort do still use them interchangeably, despite that, but in discerning print environments, it MAY not be wise.

You'll almost certainly be safe with the black, though!

No, no compatible 700 is a smaller particle to compensate the velocity, and melting point time. You may use 700 on 250 with this minor problem more developer cloud so you will contaminate laser units faster that is the only inconveniece. But if you use 250 on 700 you will get unfused copies on heavy material. By the way a small blend of 250 and dc12 works fine on a DC12.

Well, I just do it on my personal DC12 and work like a charm the finish is more glossier basicly 3/4 dc12 1/4 carrera (same as olimpia). But be carefull on this I use my DC12 once in a while I don't know results at long runs but could be a good experiment.
