    Workcentre Pro45 network controller problem

    I currently have a Xerox Workcentre Pro 45 which has stopped printing from the network. The network controller still ping on the network but will nor connect to the copier. I have tried swapping the firewire cable at both the copier and network controller end in all possible configurations with no success other than the copier wouldn't startup and eventually requested a restart. Anyone have any idea what this could be caused by?

        Check Controller power supply, if do not work, replace it, do not try to replace glass fuse if it is blown.

        If power supply is ok, then check HDD, replace it and reload system software.

          The power supply seems ok. The network controller lights are blinking and the unit can be pinged on the network.

          How would i reinstall the system software to a new hard drive??

                Try to change first Fire Wire cable between NC and mashine after that try to change PCI Firewire PWB on SIP and in NC .
                If you have ping there is no problem with system software .
                Don't load system software version above your system software version should be 4.xxx.xxx.xxx or 3.xxx.xxx.xxx

                  Thanks, Already tried to change the Firewire cards in the Network Controller and the Main machine body.Also tried a few different firewire cables in both of the ports of each firewire card

                    Then try to reload system software but you have to use altboot method and you have to know the first number of SS version and you have to load the same

                    First try to open web page of mashine using internet browser

                      I will try to get in via a web browser. However i don't have a copy of the system software for this machine and to date have not had to perform a software reload on one. Do you know where i could find the system software and how easy is it to reinstall the NC.

                          Another WCP45 with corrupt HD

                          I have a WCP 45 with HD problems. I don't have the files to install the software to a new HD. Can I just clone a working 3.98.50 drive from a working WCP 35? Is there a better firmware to put on?

                              The one with the HD problem does not print a configuration report. The one I can clone works great.
