    Troublesome silverstone 432DC

Anyone know how to get this one going its a 432 DC no ESS or fax so no MFSYS only MCU. It shows NOT READY COPY and shows only ui software level all paper sizes of in US sizes it shows it has fax and email etc and only shows tray 1 . If you select tray 1 it say please close tray 1.
This is an intermitant problem sometimes it comes up ready to copy and works fine and all the information is correct.
I have replace the complete UI ass and the MCU. I have also reinitialized the NVM totally IOT,UI and all Clear. None sem to work ??? Any ideas fellow techs ????

Maybe someone has switched the ROMs with a 432ST? Ooops, I think all that is now on the hard disk now isn't it? So maybe the hard disk crashed and someone replaced it with a 432ST hard disk? Was it working earlier in recorded history?

MCU HDD is image HDD and do not have any software or firmware on it.

Check UI battery and also MCU PWB battery.

Replace the cable from the scanner to the main body. These were know to break inside the sleeve. To check, try reversing the ends.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Power off machine. If fault is still present disconnect PJ 450 from Interface PWB ( +5VDC line from LVPS to I/F PWB). Scanner should start moving and ROS assy spinning noise heard. Machine should produce "Print Engine Fault". Reconnect PJ 450 at I/F PWB and switch machine on and disconnect PJ 463 from I/F PWB. Scanner should start moving and machine will display "Tray 1 fault". Check J463 wires for short circuit to frame. Repair damaged wire. Be very careful, when removing T1 lift motor and T1 feed baffle support bracket, to reinstall T2 take away sensor harness in the channel provided in plastic body behind bracket. Use electrical tape to secure the harness to channel.

To remove support bracket it is necessary to remove Bypass and Duplex assy, Tray 1 lift up motor and T1 feed baffle (PL.2.25 item 22). Pay attention not to damage Tray 1 feed gears and clutches in process of removing support bracket
