    Xerox WC 5030 nvm password

I get a "Machine speed configuration error" - fax comm 03-338, there is no fax board on this copier.
I entered diagnostics, "product identifier" (03-008) is not the same as the default, I need the password to change this NVM.
If you have any idea please let me know.
I know the password to the diagnostics.

The 03-008 value is not an applicable NVM for any speed related issues. This NVM is displaying what Network Configuration the machine is reading on power up. Any alterations to this location will be changed back on subsequent Power Off/Power Ons. This location does not affect the speed value mismatch, there is no need to adjust 03-008.
restore the machine MRD disk with PWS this will get rid of speed issues.
If not i think i may have a password somewhere ?

After performing 'All Copier NVM Initialization' procedure in DC 132 (press 'Machine status' to enter diagnostics) all NVM fields with their values are back but machine declares 'Speed configuration mismatch'. Speed values 3-012 and 3-008 in DC 131 are correct but the print rate 8-001 is always wrong. Changing it to correct value (you have to enter a password -2845490) - 0 for 35PPM, 1 for 45 PPM, 2 for 55PPM enables machine to pass a self-test and print.

main drive is different, photo-receptor motor is preprogrammed to different speed, ccd is different, if it is not enough to discourage you, you still need a second level tech support and new NVM PWB in your hand. good luck!

in second tough.... let see - main drive can be reworked from scraped one 45-55, if you got universal scanner (PN 062K22740) it is not a problem, for photoreceptor drive i have no clue. NVM PWB is empirical experience...
              Hmmm....you still need luck!
              share if you find something!

That says it all......thanks for the info.
maybe you can help on something more simple?

this WC5030 is configured with foreign interface Jamex 7100 card system and i would like to take it out completely. Now i went in diagnistic mode and i cant change the NVM 850-001 to 0. i have a PWS but i dont have the nvm diagnostic tool. from the UI i cant get to the right NVM.

do i need the diagnose tool?

my experiance with foreign interface is not so fresh. Try like reference this :
                  Enter SysAdministrator mode
                  /[Tools]/
[Access and Accounting]/[Authentication Mode]. and press [none] or what ever is it to put foreign interface off
                  switch the machine off
                  pull out foreign interface PWB
switch on and check NVM 850-001 if it is still 1.
i dont have the opportunity to check it myself but it is supposed to work.
                  on your question- you don't!
