Fuser units - are parts transferable?

Clearly the fuser units are different electrically (different operating temp voltage etc etc)

how much difference is there in the actual rollers inside the units.... looking at two units side buy side in this case a 550i fuser and a printer fuser , they look VERY simillar.... different electrical connections but same socket etc etc

is it possible to trasfer parts, rollers or gears between units?

    thanks P

looks like these guys make replacement fuser rollers for some xerox units...... http://www.magnetone.com.sg/files/Pr...ogue-Xerox.pdf

has anyone on here dealt with these guys

from ripping one apart it looks like the operational voltage / temp is the only difference between so if you are after a new fuser unit for a 550i you can rip the guts out of the fuser unit from some of the xerox printers...

Just to throw this in the mix, Xerox OEM's it's 7300 series units to Lexmark. We have successfully used Lexmark PARTS in the Xerox boxes. The toners are chipped and we have not tried to get around that, although I'm sure it's possible.
Interestingly the Lexmark toners have almost double the yield of the Xerox.

Re: Fuser units - are parts transferable?

Old thread but adding some information. Printer was made by Lexmark and sold as a Xerox, and a very not well known konica minolta. The parts are interchangeable. The toners have plastic tabs that you can reconfigure very easily to fit in the appropriate machine. The drum units are slightly trickier. Usually the lexmark and konica minolta brand toners are much cheaper than the xerox brand.
