I've now taken off the gear but it's still exactly the same thing, I'm going to try to take pictures of this and put it up.

How are your issues coming along David?

gus: most likely there had been some error generated which is causing the machine to stop . i presume if you connect the pws the error will show up. DId you chec k the error history iof your machine .is there any code besides the 4a jam. open the ibt and see if there is any image on the ibt assembly.

my issue is going no where. changing lvps4 today.

                Good luck with your machine

There is no other error generated, initially I did get an image on the IBT belt but now there seems to be none, yet a bit of toner is deposited on the paper.

if there is no image on ibt then your issue is not a paper jam. There should be a image on the ibt when the paper is at 2nd btr. your issue is something else than a paper jam

That's kind of what I suspected, interestingly it would jam at almost the same spot initially, about 4 cms further ahead and there would be a bit of the real image on the paper and on the IBT there would be no image after the bit on the paper but ahead there would be the cyan chevrons and some squares that I'm told are used for the colour registration, none of that appear now on the IBT.

Two things to add to this now, firstly my tech says the reason there's no image on the IBT belt after the jam is that the belt continues moving and the image is cleaned off even after the jam. Secondly, he has narrowed the problem down to the motor that drives the second BTR roller, it does run when there is no load but when putting a load it it just sits there and doesn't turn, making a slight humming noise. Does this mean a new motor?
