3535 black faded when printing in colour

Im trying to print a flyer 100% black background and a gold logo on it. I obviously select full colour (CMYK) and when i print the black is very faded and poor quality but when i print the same document and select grayscale then the black is perfect.

We replaced the developers, cleaned the drums, changed the fuser and printed on different kinds of paper but to no avail. What could this be?

I your graphics editing program such as Photoshop, Corel etc, you have option to print only one color. Just set up A3 page and fill it with 100% of Black (K=100 ), or 50%, or however percentage you need. Print every single color c,y,m, and k, and you'll see which color isn't good. After you find out which one has anomalities, you'll easily solve your problem.

                      Try with this adjustement : C=40, M=0, Y=0 and K=100.

                      What's the result?

The colour is now consistent and looks fine. Why is that? And thank you jayc67 for you input

You're welcome ihsaan! I don't know exactly why we need to take another color to have a good black solid background. In all impression system you need to strengthen the black color with another of the 3 color, but you must be below 250/400% of the 4 colors otherwise the ink load will be too important. If i'm not mistaken, you can use 40% yellow if you want a black more shine. (sorry for my english)
