    Docucolor 242 color mis registration

    Hi all,
I have this little color mis-registration on my dc242 after replacing both CK and YM ROS's. The mis-reg is not too wide but its bad enough to significantly distort the printed image. Registration control cycle fail to correct this problem because registration measurement cycle routine fails, meanwhile the registration control sensor checks are all ok and max setup is good with all the four colors adequately toned. What else could be the problem, thanks in advance.

DC675 (Registration control cycle) is the only adjustment that this machine does, registration measurement cycle is only measurement tool that is telling you what is wrong e.g. Sensor in NG ( this mean that inboard sensor has not detected the chevrons)
First you need to check in CE failure report for error code 89-xxx.
To print out the CE report:
      1)Enter UI diagnostics
2)Select Machine Status on the UI.
3)Select the Billing Meter/Print report tab on the touch screen.
4)Select Print Report/List on the touch screen.
5)Select CE on the touch screen.
6)Select Failure Report on the touch screen.
7)Select the Start button on the UI.
Look at those codes and especially at the first code that was recorded, it will tell you what/where is the problem.
Remove the left cover ( bypass) and look at the chevrons while DC675 is running.
      Are any of them missing?
Anyway post the code here and I will help you.

amadeusmbi is right first of all try to reseat the ROS and cables.

Thanks. I think something went wrong with the IBT assy. I got an old assembly, removed the ibt belt, the ibt cleaner and belt edge sensor from the one on the machine, fixed on the old assy i got and the problem was resolved.

in this case you have problems with patch sensor (optic) or patch. clean them.

What's patch sensor, could you be talking about MOB ADC sensors?

no, ibt belt have a patch on it (a reflective silver square area - about 8x8 mm) and the ibt assy has a sensor that reads this patch. I assume that the sensor is dirty.
