Ok, before I did the IU, I put in the old Yellow toner cartridge that I am supposed to replace, and it says %19 remaining and it works. But whenever I put in the NEW Yellow toner cartridge, the error comes up again. I have checked the box of the new toner and on it it says Xerox 7132, 7232, 7242.
The Toners look exactly the same in shape and size. Everything on it seems the same except for the labels on it, the part numbers were a bit different.
I took the NEW toner to another office that has a Xerox WC 7132 and tried it, and it still came up with the error message "cartridge error".
I have already in stock a pack of this Toners, one of each color. Is the Toner bad?..do I have to get a new one?

swap the chip - it's in the outboard cap

Thanks. I changed the outboard cap and now it works, the only problem is it says that it has only 19% left instead of 100%. I am not so sure what to do but I went ahead got into the IU and intialize NVM 740-068 from default 2 to 8 which is new and still it stays at 19%. Also tried Input Device "flag new toner" 752-015 to "1" which is New. Am not so sure if this is what I am supposed to do or not. Is there anything I can do to make it a 100%?

The only way I know is to put in a correct, new chip.

Re: Darn it! Not Again...Xerox WorkCentre 7132

So the toner is still at 19% instead of 100%. I read something on the manual which I thought was the solution to my problem.
              NVM Read/Write
              Purpose
Reads, sets or changes the NVM data.
              Procedure
              1.Access Diagnostic Routines.
a.Enter UI Diagnostics (Entering UI Diagnostics in UI Diagnostic Mode).
b.Access Diagnostic Routines (Accessing Diagnostic Routines in UI Diagnostic Mode).
              2.Select Maintenance/Diagnostics.
              3.Select NVM Read/Write.
              Reading NVM
              1.Input Chain-Link number(6 digits) on NVM Read/Write screen.
              2.Select Confirm/Change.
3.Current Value appears in Current Value column.
              Writing NVM
1.Input New number in New Value column.
              2.Select Save.
3.New number appears on Current Value column.

Chain Link-752-812 Toner Level[Y] 100=Default 0~100 a ratio of toner remaining in Toner Cartridge
So I entered in the Chain Link and it showed "19" and choose "change" and input the new number which would be 100% and then selected "save" and then the new current value would change to 100 but when I exit and the copier restarts, the number goes back to 19, the toner value being at 19%.

Am I doing it wrong? Or is there something else I should do?

Re: Darn it! Not Again...Xerox WorkCentre 7132

Well I called in my problem to the vendor who sent me the toners. They sent me a "Resettable Replacement Chip" for the Yellow Toner Cartridge. Now I am assuming that I should exchange it with the other chip in the outboard cap (which is the cap that is Yellow) , the old chip and the new chip is the same in size but the new one has a small thing (looks like a register) on it that makes it difficult to slide in the outboard cap. I can make it go in but then I have to force it...should I force it?..or am I even putting it in the right place?

                Any help would be great..

                Thanks

Don't force it. I haven't used the thicker chip, but maybe a heat gun would work to soften the plastic to make space.
