Re: dc250 touch screen
Hi! First of all thank you for the great answer!
In Workcentre 7655 model, do you know how to enter the UI Touch Screen Calibration mode?
Thank you!
Some need more some less to be heated never will now how much is enough .
It works 100% when you get in to it!
It is doing pretty well now 10 months on my personal machine.
I have bin a bit retired in last 2 years in servicing (it was my primary job before) . I always enjoy in this tricky things since old days
It was fun to see customers face back then when converting analog 5437 series touch panel from english to my native language.
cheers!Comment

Re: Xerox 7300 touch screens
Lots of our touchscreens are going out on the 7300 series. According to Xerox you have to replace the whole panel ($700.00) when the screens go out. We are taking off the screens, soaking them, cleaning them etc. Last for a while, Anyone have a source just for the touch screens? Thanks
compatible touch screens dont need usd 700,.. it is much cheaper, but also work very stable. there is source for touch screens:

Re: dc250 touch screen
Today my touch screen stopped working
Took the UI off, all plastic covers and the thin metal frame between the screen and casing.
Not confident about removing the orange cable from the main board though.
I did heat all the edges with a very hot hairdryer and pressed firmly.
Back together on machine, touch screen fully illuminated as before but nothing reacts when pressed, even with the stylus provided.
All buttons work on the base of the pad.
Tried the 0-1-3 and power on calibration.
Used the stylus but didn't see the 'point 9 save success' image, I did get a small black box appear as in fig. 4, which did move in different places when I touched the screen.
Is heat to be applied to the underside of the screen?
If so, how easy is it to remove the cable?
It looks very delicate, I had taken the panel off to access it but wasn't sure about prising it off, lifting it, unclipping it

Re: dc250 touch screen
Paula, the conductive compound which holds the screen and the ribbon cable together deteriorates with the time. There is no other solution than to replace the touch screen. All tips in the Internet about heating etc are bumbling and idiotic. You might fuse a few molecules together with that method giving you another few weeks but it will not last.

Re: dc250 touch screen
Hi Hans,
I dont know if it's idiotic or not but those few weeks you said about, it turned for me in 8 months by now. So it works, and if we can make it last longer before spending alot of money on a touch panel it's a great thing. I recomend that stilus pen should be used rather than using hand.Comment
