Xerox work centre 4118 fax problem

i got xerox work centre 4118 has fax problem .it does not send fax automatically.once you put paper in adf and dial the # and push start it will scan all the pages in memory and you will hear dial tone but it does not dail out. but when you manually dail the # it will go through .please let me know if any setting need it to be changed on report it will show communication err
