    Doc 12 fuser roller replacement

I am working on a Xerox Docucolor 12 that consistently develops excess toner on the upper fuser roller. I talked with another tech who told me whenever he services Doc 12's fuser, he always replaces the lower, upper, and external heat rollers.

The lower and external fuser/heat rollers look OK to me. How does everyone handle this problem A) replace the bad roller or B) go ahead and replace all three?

    Any help is appreciated.

    hi,

check the oil system roll ( donor roll, pick up roll, oil wick and blade), contamination usually develops at pick up roll, scrape those contamination by the use of highly aggressive alcohol and a cutter blade or replace it whenever necessary.

Contamination in the oil system (as mentioned above) is the first point of contact for an unfused image on paper. Sometimes, users don't select the correct paper type which causes jamming at the fuser point of entry immediately touching and contaminating the oil system roll. Other case maybe a paper jam in the fuser itself leaving toner residues on the fuser rollers. Another check -the oil distribution system (oil pump, tube, etc)- make sure oil pump is working fine and oil distribution has no blockages. Last check is the fuser nip gap of 10mm-10.5mm (ideally 10.3mm) -adjust if necessary. You should know by now if you really need to replace a heat roll, pressure roll and external heat roll and other components such as the oil system roll, temp sensors, stripper fingers, etc. amongst others
