[Misc] Need Reflective Patch for Xerox Docucolor 240

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement reflective patch for the IBT on a Xerox 240 Docucolor?

I'm afraid that you'll have to buy new IBT belt.

You can cut a square piece of the aluminium foil that the drum is packed in and stick with super glue where your patch was , works fine for me

Xerox does indeed sell the patches by themselves. Item number is 604K45001 and the cost is about $15. It is a little baggy with THREE patches each. They're just self-adhesive stickers, but it is really good adhesive. After you adhere them, make sure to peel off the protective plastic coating on the patch. With the protective plastic layer on there, it looks milky silver. Once you remove the plastic coating, it is shiny silver.

It is the same type of protective plastic that comes on new products with smooth shiny parts and whatnot. Meant to be removed.

It will still work with the protective plastic, but the patch is "thick" that way and eventually starts to rip off. I've had machines from the factory come with the plastic not removed from the patch. After about a million prints you'll start getting "belt home position failure" and whatnot without frequent (slightly tedious) cleaning. With the plastic removed, I've had the patches last over 3 million prints. (Basically, they outlive the belt itself.)

Can't find the silver patches anywhere.

Are you sure that is the correct part number? I can't find anything with 604K45001.

I'm certain that when I bought it, that was the part number. But it's been a while, so try changing the 1 at the end to a 2, for example. There may have been a revision, causing the part number to increment. I bought them direct from Xerox's parts department. They can usually help you find revised part numbers, as the old part numbers are generally notated with the current part number.

I believe that part number is for the European market. Maybe!
