General release versions are available at Xerox.com. Click on support, enter the model number in the search field, then click on drivers and downloads and scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find the latest versions of machine software.

This firmware/software is a tad confusing. I think we need the 5600 series sbc & mbc latest altboot version, plus the pws tools for the 5600 sereies. (?) Anybody know about this and have this "stuff"?

The latest pws tool for 56xx series machines is 25.00.0012. This tool work under WinXP also under Win7.
The tool contain altboot software for mbc and sbc machine. The altboot files are in firmware release and are different for mbc and sbc machines.

Hi, looks like this thread might help me too.
I have a 5665 and the hard drive died (was 20.113....) so my question will be can I replace the harddrive original 80Gb sata with a 40Gb sata and using altboot + null modem serial cable + crossover ethernet cable reinstall OS + firmware?
I read thru the service manual of 5665 and seems possible but I also read thru many forums and people say cannot use other harddrives , u need the "install" firmware not the downloadable dlm file of xerox downloads page, etc.
Can you guys point me in the right direction ?
I also have the cds that came with the machine and all get is the Auditron and I'm supposed to use it over USB but I did not find a clear description on how 2 do this either.

You must use 80 Gb for hdd
You can do that id you have proper software

thank you for the fast reply.
Ok so the size of hdd is 80 - I'll get one ( I already had the 40 so...)
The only reason is that we use this copier as a net printer - no other feature is used so I hoped it won't need a big hdd.

About the software - I cant find altboot on any of the cds that I have - any ideea where I could get it from ?

Please is anybody have NVM file for wc 5645 (*.nvb) with (ser.no.) Costumer lose floppy disk, and battery die.
