There seems to be confusion, the software on the xerox public page is general releases. It is supposedly stable and what is recommended usually. Form the GSN website, you can download spars, but those are made to address issues and may introduce other issues, thus only apply spars if it helps individual issues.
Now for altboot. Altboot process is necessary for:
'downgrading' to a lesser version
to fix software corruption on NC
When replacing the HDD.
Altboot software is also obtained from GSN and is a 'package' that also has the image that allows you to boot NC from PWS and reload the software. The 'package' has a .dlm file in it. I recommend using the .dlm that comes with the 'package'. Once you have done an altboot, you may then upgrade the the latest .dlm you wish to use. This can be done thru CWIS.
Now the original post did not specify altboot, therefore I did not suggest searching GSN.
Do you have GSNLock Client and XEROX PWS DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS instal on your laptop?
If not,you can not use alternate boot.
BR
Yes I have it on my laptop. But I have it for CC232-WCP275. Is it possible to use Alternate Boot for CC232-WCP275 with Inst/NC/diskimg files for 5632?
I guess the Alternate Boot is the same for CC232-WCP275, WCP35-55 and 5632 ?
