    IP Address of machine 7665

    Hi Guys

Where can I find the IP address of the machine please? I printed the config report and tried all of them listed but still no joy acccessing via the web browser?

TCP/IP on the report is telling me

    IP Address = 172.24.65.72

But I get nothing if I use that in the web browser?

Just tried that and no. The machine is going to the router (netgear) via a Belkin powerline LAN network and I am connected to the router via LAN.

Use ethernet crossover cable to connect a pc directly to the copier. Set the pc ip address = 172.24.65.70 ,same subnet mask like copier and try to access copier from that pc.
If dont work then probably you must reload the machine software - 40.032.xxxxx or 40.033.xxxxx

            Hiya

The previous owner assigned the IP address. I am just starting to set the printer up in my office. Its all clean now and copys fine so network connectivity is the next step for me. I shall go to Maplins to day and get a Crossover cable. Can you tell me which driver I need to install for win 7 please as there are a lot of drivers on this downloads page LOL and it's not clear which one I need to use.

            WorkCentre 7655/7665/7675 Drivers & Downloads

Im also getting one of these so i can get it on my network without running a long cable

            Cheers

You can use any pcl or ps driver. I never use wi-fi with this machine so I dont know how it's work.
Download System Admin Guide from Documentation web page and read it to know how to configure the machine.

Yes I am reading that now.

Ok So I DID manage to get into the web admin panel when i connect with a crossover cable and set my ip on my laptop to static, but I CANT connect to the web panel when I go through my netgear router? Why is this?

Would I be better changing the IP to dynamic in the web panel and let my router assign an IP address? If I do that what is the default IP address for the web panel?

Perhaps there's a duplicate IP address. Perhaps you have a bad router port.

What IP range is being used at your office? You do have to select a static IP address within your network range for the MFP. You can't just use any address.

A simple installation technique is to set the MFP to DHCP. The DHCP server will hand out an open address. Set that open address to static. It's unlikely to result in a duplicate IP address. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                    Hiya

                    Router range is

                    IP range = 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254
                    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
DNS are 213.120.234.10 and 213.120.234.58 (Do these stay the same or are they set by your ISP?)

Router is set to be DHCP server. I can set an address to be reserved in the router mind you. In fact I just tried that and it told me that 172.24.65.72 was illegal.

what is MFP? new to all this but learning..

                      MFP: Multi-Function Printer: Copier

So you can select 192.168.0.200 (assuming it's not already in use). Ping 192.168.0.200 and look for No Response.
That should solve your problems. =^..^=

The machines IP needs to be the same range. Your router range is on the private range of 192.168.0.X, a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 means (very simply) that the last number (octet) is changed between devices. You will need to set the device to DHCP or static IP within the 192.168.0.X range.

First pick a number between 2 and 254, and try "ping 192.168.0.X" (with X replaced with your number) just to make sure the IP is not already taken.

I doubt you have a domain setup, you should leave this blank.

mDNS is mostly used for Mac and Linux, best leave it disabled.

With most devices, best leave IPv6 disabled. It lowers the likelyhood of network conflicts.
