    Workcentre Pro 32 - communication problem encountered

    Hello everyone!

    I have a Workcentre Pro 32 Color. It displays communication problem encountered when turned on.
    I know there is this related thread http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/xe...countered.html

    But I have a different problem with the WCPS diagnostics software.
    I can connect to the machine but don't get any setup menu screen like that in post #4.

    Does anybody know how to fix my problem?

    It is old WCPS version. Do you run it on WinXP and IE8 ?
    What is the software version on your WCP ?

      I run it on WinXP 32bit and and IE8.
      Version PWS32 V01.02.029.

      Software Version WCP S0.01.02.030 on the module.

        Use WinXP and IE6 or your software kit of WCPS it's not good
        Install a fresh WinXP, install WCPS and try again.
        I have the last version of WCPS which works with WinXP and IE8 or Win7 32 bit and IE8

              Hello all, I support the position of adriansto. Last year I had the same problem. I changed my laptop and fix the problem.

                I have digged out my very old laptop and downgraded the IE8 to IE6.
                I give a feedback if that works.

                  I think I have screwed something up.

                  I tried to reset the machine but I don't find any function or button.
                  So I upgraded the software to (DC361 restore IOT critical NVM) S0_01_02.059 (but I have forgotten to save the old one). After the upgrade the UI has still the old version.
                  After a restart the unknown Fault in the WCPS fault list was gone but the display still shown "communication problem encountered".
                  Then I typed in the time and date in the WCPS (DC133). The machine restarted but the display still shown "communication problem encountered".
                  Next I initialized all aviable modules in (DC301, DC306). Then I clanged the Install Phaser (DC105) from Manufacturing to install Complete, and the system configuration unknown to Digital Copier - Printer.
                  Now the printer come with a new fault Configuration Mismatch exists.

                  In the menu DC303 the FDI Daughterboard Card Present is still an error. (I don't know what that is and if it is important)

                  Paper Tray Configuration Mismatch
                  Output Device Configuration Mismatch
                  EPC Memory Size fault.

                  I hope that somebody can help.

                      Did the Software made automatically somewhere a backup of the old version?
                      I searched for it but can't find an backup.
                      Because I don't have the old S0.01.02.030. I don't saved it.

                        You cant save the software, there is not any backup.
                        You must have the software kit. In \xerox\WCPS\Data folder you have a save from machine critical nvm.
